【摘要】:Thistestmethodisusedtodeterminethefilteringefficiencyandflowrateofthefiltrationcomponentofasedimentretentiondevice,suchasasiltfence,asiltbarrier,orasiltcurtain,forspecificsoilconditions.Thistestmethodmaybeusedforthedesignofthefiltrationcomponentofasedimentretentiondevicetomeetrequirementsofregulatoryagenciesinfilteringefficiencyorflowrateforspecificsoilconditions.Thedesignercanusethistestmethodtodeterminethespacingbetweensedimentretentiondevices.Thistestmethodisintendedforperformanceevaluation,astheresultswilldependonthespecificsoilevaluated.Itisrecommendedthattheuserorrepresentativeperformthetesttopre-approvedproducts,assedimentretentiondevicemanufacturersarenottypicallyequippedtohandleortestsoilrequirements.Thistestmethodprovidesameansofevaluatingthefiltrationcomponentofsedimentretentiondeviceswithdifferentsoilsundervariousconditionsthatsimulatetheconditionsthatexistinasedimentretentiondeviceinstallation.Thistestmethodmaybeusedtosimulateseveralstormeventsonthesamesedimentretentiondevicespecimen.Therefore,thenumberoftimesthistestisrepeatedperspecimenisdependentupontheuserandthesiteconditions.1.1Thistestmethodisusedtodeterminethefilteringefficiencyandtheflowrateofthefiltrationcomponentofasedimentretentiondevice,suchasasiltfence,siltbarrier,orinletprotector.1.1.1Theresultsareshownasapercentageforfilteringefficiencyandcubicmetrespersquaremetreperminute(m3/m2/min)orgallonspersquarefootperminute(gal/ft2/min)forflowrate.1.1.2Thefilteringefficiencyindicatesthepercentofsedimentremovedfromsediment-ladenwater.1.1.3Theflowrateistheaveragerateofpassageofthesediment-ladenwaterthroughthefiltrationcomponentofasedimentretentiondevice.1.2Thistestmethodrequiresseveralspecializedpiecesofequipment,suchasanintegratedwatersamplerandananalyticalbalance,andsitespecificsoilfromtheconstructionproject.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsarethestandard,whiletheinch-poundunitsareprovidedforinformation.Thevaluesexpressedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemmustbeusedindependentlyoftheother,withoutcombiningvaluesinanyway.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
