【摘要】:Thisspecificationcoversthesocketproducedforsolventcementjointsonbothpressureandnon-pressureIPSpipe.Italsocoversthetestingofthejointsonbothpressureandnon-pressurepipe,andincludesrequirementsforsocketdimensions,burstpressure,andjointtightnesstestsofthesolventcementedjoints.Thetestsdescribedarenotintendedforroutinequalitycontrol,butrathertoevaluatetheperformancecharacteristicsofthejoint.Note1-OndualmarkedSchedule40DWVandpotablewaterpipe,thesocketbellsmustconformtothedimensionalandphysicalrequirementsforpressuresocketbells.Thetextofthisspecificationreferencesnotes,footnotes,andappendixeswhichprovideexplanatorymaterial.Thesenotesandfootnotes(excludingthoseintablesandfigures)shallnotbeconsideredasrequirementsofthespecification.Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Note2-Changesinground,water,orairtemperaturewillproduceexpansionorcontractionforcesinPVCpiping,andthesewillresultinlongitudinalshearstressesinthesolventcementjoints.Thesestressesmustbeconsideredinthedesignandoperationofthesystem.Note3-SeePracticeD618forinformationrelatingtothisspecification.Thefollowingsafetyhazardscaveatpertainsonlytothetestmethodportion,Section,ofthisspecification.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
